Škocjan caves

The Škocjan caves, which are only a 10-minutes’ drive away from us, are the only natural monument in Slovenia and the classical Karst which was entered the Unesco World Heritage List.

Also known as Škocjanske Jame, reccognised as one of the most important caves in the world and listed by UNESCO since 1986. Was really disappointed that I did not get to take a tour inside it after making the trip there.

Lipica Stud Farm

Lipica Stud Farm has been home to one of the oldest cultivated breeds of horses – the Lipizzaner – for more than 400 years. Allow yourself at least two hours for the visit. Lipica is a 15-minutes’ drive from us.

Park of Military History

At the Park of Military History Pivka time will stop for the lovers of military history and half a day will pass in an instant. We were impressed by a unique experience of seeing the inside of a real submarine. You will be able to see the Park already from the horseback, as it is close to us, and we recommend that you take time and go there by car (the drive takes only 15 minutes from us).

Piran

Piran, an old fishermen’s town, is absolutely the most beautiful jewel of the Slovenian coast and only an hour’s drive away from us. It will enchant you, therefore spare at least half a day to visit it.

Predjama castle

The Predjama castle is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest cave castle in the world. It is an hour’s drive away, and we have visited it on horseback, too.
